Add Some Shimmer To Your Look This Summer With The Body Shop

Each season, The Body Shop introduce a perfect collection of makeup that is just right for that time of year. This summer they have released many beautiful, shimmering products that will make you look glowy and perfect for the easy days ahead of us.

These are my favorite from the collection:

The Body Shop Bronzing Powder ($18.50) is a beautiful bronzer to give color this summer. If you are like me and pile on the sunscreen, most of your color comes from bronzers. What I love about this one is that it is a lightweight, matte powder. It boasts light-diffusing particles to provide instant radiance and help reduce the appearance of fine lines. It also contains Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier plus Vitamin E which is an antioxidant that helps to soften, condition and protect skin.

I have Shade 01 which is the lightest matte shade. There is also Shade 03 which is a shimmering shade and Shade 04 which is a dark matte shade. The matte shades are perfect when you want to get a little color, not shimmer.

Brush On Radiance ($21.00 USD) — Here’s where I like to get my very subtle shimmer. Actually, it is more of an illumination. This is a little pot of  multi-colored bead that ar light-reflective and iridescent. They give a beautiful glow. They contain Community marula nut oil to promote moisturization and hydration.

Delipscious Sheer Lip Color ($12.00 USD) – This reminds me of a product that I used to wear in my 20’s — Clinique’s Almost Lipstick. They still make that, of course, but only in Black Honey. They used to have many different shimmery colors.

This new Delipscious Sheer Lip Color is sheer and moisturizing. It also has a fruity flavor made from food-grade ingredients, including natural blueberry and pomegranate seed oils. This also contains organic, virgin, cold-pressed Community Trade coconut oil to help replenish moisture levels; Community Trade organic beeswax from Zambia to helps moisturize and condition lips; and Community Trade cocoa butter, an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, and is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants.

Available in 7 sheer shades, Sheer Lychee, Sheer Toffee, Sheer Watermelon, Sheer Candy, Sheer Elderberry, Sheer Saffron and Sheer Pomegranate. They are all beautiful and subtle.

New Products From Lipstick Queen

My favorite lipstick maven, Poppy King, has come out with some bright lip colors for fall. I love wearing light shear lip glosses in the summer, but when the temperature dips, I like to wear brighter colors for the fun of it!

I love the 15 Minutes of Fame lip gloss ($16.50USD) which is inspired by Andy Warhol’s Pop Art movement. He predicted in 1968 that, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes”. Kind of evokes todays reality stars, huh? This shiny, not shimmery gloss is available in 15 shades ranging in very light pink, bright orange and dark red. A color for everyone! These glosses are fantastically glossy and full colored, which is great for the fall. I have shade 14 Minutes — Gorgeous Grape. It is dramatic and fun, great with a little neutral shadow, black liner and lots of mascara.

Chinatown Glossy Pencils ($20.00 USD) This jumbo sized pencil (that comes with a jumbo-sized sharpener) comes in 5 bright colors that glide on so smoothly. Don’t be afraid of the shades because they are super sheer and moisturizing. My favorite color is Thriller, a sheer scarlet red. I do not wear reds because they make me look like a kid wearing mom’s lipstick; but this one is fabulous. If I keep the rest of my face in neutral colors, I actually look cool and sophisticated.

I highly recommend that you visit www.lipstickqueen.com and purchase any of the fab products. They are all great!

Brighten Your Look This Winter with Stila’s Convertible Color

Stila Covertible Color
Stila Covertible Color

I recently received some wonderful Stila products. Once of the standouts is Convertible Color ($25.00 USD), a creamy compact that can be used on cheeks and lips.

The colors look dark in the compact, but go on sheer and are very blendable. I think this product works well for winter because of its creamy texture. Also, it probably would be good for most seasons because it is not at all greasy.

The two shades that I own are Rose, a pinky-red that leaves a naturally rosy lip stain as well as a complexion brightening blush; and Camellia, a neutral beige color that looks wonderful on my pale skin.

If you visit Stila’s website (www.stilacosmetics.com) you will find a great variety of nine colors for sale. You can also find these products at Ulta and Sephora. The quality of Stila’s products are fantastic, so have fun trying out the brand!
