My Beauty Favorites — Week of July 4-10, 2016

I’d say that in Missouri, we are in the dog days of summer!   It is hot and humid.  My skin is being abused by the heat and the dry air inside.

This week I’m loving deep cleansing skincare, a facial oil for damaged skin, and treatments for a sunburned bod. It’s so important to take care of your skin when the sun is so bright! My new faves are:

Dr. Brandt Skincare Xtend Your Youth A3 Power Foaming Cleanser ($29 USD) — A refreshing cleanser enriched with luxurious mandarin orange oil and antioxidants that leave the skin revitalized after every use.

Dr. Brandt Skincare PoreDermebrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator ($58 USD) — reduces the look of enlarged pores and mattifies shine. Minimize pores while smoothing and evening skin’s texture with this dual-action formula. This exfoliator instantly* works to deeply cleanse pores while it strengthens and tightens the look of pores by removing congestion- and clogging-causing impurities. Your skin will look and feel smoother, more even, and shine-free.

What I think:  Both these products are perfect for cleaning the dirt, makeup and sunscreen out of my pores during the summer. The foaming cleanser works well at night to remove makeup. The exfoliator is nice for the morning to make my skin glow!  My skin looks smoother with each use!

Purxury Antioxidant Rescure Facial Oil
Purxury Antioxidant Rescue Facial Oil

Purxury Antioxidant Rescue Facial Oil ($49.00 USD) — Combination of oils rich in fatty acids and anti-oxidants to restore dry, mature and damaged skin. Our facial oil is full of vitamins and nutrients, great for restoring moisture after a facial or anytime you would like.

Beautifully scented with a proprietary blend of essential oils and absolutes that are mixed to revitalize, soothe, nurture and moisturize for deep repair. INGREDIENTS: Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Fruit Oil, Olive, Argan Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and a proprietary blend of Essential Oils and Absolutes.

What I think: This oil is so soothing!  My skin is very sensitive, but this doesn’t irritate it at all.  I like using it as a nighttime treatment in the summer.  It is especially nice after a day in the sun.  I apply it to clean skin, then in the morning my skin is soft and it feels refreshed.

Ola Tropical Apothecary After Sun Healing Remedy ($24 USD, 4 fl. oz.) – an exceptional natural sun recovery formula designed to treat over exposure to the sun by repairing and replenishing damaged, thirsty skin. Key ingredients include: hydrating and soothing Organic Aloe Vera; powerfully healing antioxidant-rich Noni Fruit; cell renewing Tamanu Oil; Amino acids, proteins and essential fatty acids to replenish the skin found in Spirulina; soothing and nourishing Coconut Water; and healing and repairing Sea weeds.

Ola Tropical Apothecary After Sun Healing Bath ($6 USD) – Infused with hydrating Coconut Milk, healing Noni, Tropical Flower extracts, Aloe Vera, purifying herbs and nourishing island oils. This soak will help erase the damaging effects of the sun leaving your skin feeling renewed and moisturized.  Fragrance free.  To use: simply add 1-2 tablespoons into a warm bath.  Let cool to room temperature before you soak.

What I think: After too much sun, skin needs to be pampered. The perfect combo is to use the After Sun Healing Bath, then the Healing Remedy. They leave my skin soothed and fresh.  Great for after a day at the water park or lake, whenever you get too much sun!
