Bye Bye Pores HD Silk Micro-Powder
It Cosmetics always has great products that hide flaws and highlight our best features. Their fab new product, the HD Silk Micro Finishing Powder ($24.00 USD), is a translucent setting powder and all over face finishing powder that actually helps reduce the appearance of pores! This HD Micro-powder is infused with line smoothing hydrolyzed collagen, luxurious silk for a poreless finish, and vitamin K to help reduce discoloration. It also contains anti-aging antioxidants Vitamins A,C & E to help ward off free radicals throughout the day and is talc-free, oil-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free and hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic. The translucent color works on all skin tones.
As I grow older, my pores are increasing in size and powder often makes my face look dry, especially in fall and winter. I buff this loose powder on my face and it takes away shine and diminishes the appearance of pores without looking dry and flaky. It keeps me looking fresh (not oily) all day long. This is definitely going to be my go-to powder for the cold-weather months — and most likely when it warms up, too.

One Hand Helps the Other
I love the ecoTools’s Bath and Body collection. Not only are all of the products 98% natural and paraben, phthalate and cruelty free; they also are packaged in recyclable bottles and the ingredients are biodegradable and dermatologist, allergy and clinically tested.
I have recently tried a couple more of these products including the One Hand Helps the Other Intensive Hand Cream ($7.99). This jojoba oil formula, not only makes my dry hands incredibly soft, I think it smells fantastic! The scent is a bit strong, so if there is someone in the next cubicle to you at work who is scent sensitive — leave it at home!
The Love Heels All Intensive Heel Cream ($7.99) is also very nice, but it is a thicker formula than the hand cream. This is very moisturizing and will help cracked winter feet. This scent is minty and also very nice. This cream contains repairing natural butters to soften dry feet and hands.

All Purpose Aloe Vera Gel
Ole Henriksen creates skin care that celebrities, and regular folk (like myself) love. Mr. Henriksen had said, ”My studies in cosmetic chemistry and experience from treating skin, hands on, has given me a clear idea as to the function and content of each product I have developed. This has resulted in a series of pure, natural, high-performance products that are forever evolving through my continued research.”
I am always looking for great skin care products, especially ones that will help my troubled combination skin by minimizing my pores. Ole Henriksen’s Pick Me Up Tonic ($21.00 7 oz mist, $30.00 12 oz) has really helped make my pores appear smaller. This oxygenating gentle toner claims to awaken skin & minimize pores. it contains alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin C & chamomile oxygenates and is paraben-free. I have the mist and I like to use it both ways. For intense toning I apply with a cotton pad. For a mid-day pick-me-up, I spritz it on my face. It smells fresh and feels great!
I also have tried Ole Henriksen’s All Purpose Aloe Vera Gel ($30.00 8 oz) – I love this product! I is a coolingoil-free gel that helps sooth skin irritations with chamomile. It is touted to help skin that is irritated by a rash, cut or sunburn. It can be uses all over the body. It feels cooling and soothes after a tough day. I used it one day when I burned my finger on my stove, and it helped relieve the pain.

Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer
Looking for a different type of skin care company? Juara skin care is a fusion active botanicals of Indonesian herbal recipes and Western science to create products that represent the best the east and west. They combine active botanicals such as rice, tamarind, turmeric, candlenut oil, healing teas and red sandalwood with modern technology and innovation to deliver quality treatments.
I recommend the following products from the line:
Rice Facial Cleanser ($25.00) — This gentle cleanser contains rice starch to remove make-up and also condition the skin. Rice starch also contains soothing and softening properties and is rich in amino acids and protein. I enjoy a good cleanser, I believe that it sets the stage for a good skin care regimen. I really love that my skin feels clean but not dry after this cleanser and is ready for my moisturizer!
Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer (oil-free) ($48.00) — My skin is combination and can get a little oily throughout the day. The website describes that, “this light gel-creme combines the age-defying benefits of fermented sweet black tea with the shine-reducing and purifying properties of ginger for a luminous matte finish. Completely oil-free and specially formulated for oily skin, it immediately reduces shine while at the same time helping delay and reverse signs of aging.” I have used other mattefying moisturizers that dry out my combination skin, but this lotion is so moisturizing — just not greasy! It is also paraben-free, alcohol-free, unfragranced and oil-free.
Candlenut Lip Balm SPF 20 ($18.00) — It’s lip balm season! At least for me it is — my lips can really feel the cold air and they are already becoming dry. This protective lip balm arrives in a very lovely mirror compact plus it relieves dry and chapped lips. With a great SPF 20, it will protect your lips from UVA and UVB rays of the sun with effective broad-spectrum sunscreens to help prevent aging and skin cancer. It contains candlenut, jojoba and olive oils and is scented with Indonesian citrus fruits. Very nice!

I have begun the think about Mother’s Day (May 10th) and what I’m going to get for my mother and mother-in-law. Being a beauty blogger, I love giving products that I have tried and enjoyed. Great hint for your mom or other cool lady you love — Carol’s Daughter!
Talk about pampering! The products from this line are rich, luxurious and soothing and are made from natural ingredients. I recommend trying and giving some of these goodies:
Almond Cookie Shea Souffle ($13.00 – 30.00 USD) — This is a whipped body butter. If you love the scent of almonds, this is a good one! The fragrance is a combination of almonds blended with marzipan, sandalwood and musk. It goes on almond-y and dries down to a powdery scent that lingers all day. Even when I’m not wearing perfume, people comment that I smell so good! And it leaves my skin VERY soft.
If your looking for a highly pigmented lip gloss, try Candy Paint ($13.50 USD). - I like that this moisturizing gloss is not too sticky and that the color is well pigmented. It is infused with natural ingredients such as grapeseed oil, shea butter, aloe vera extract and vitamin E to hydrate, condition, protect and soothe your lips. The gloss comes in 15 shades, so their is a great selection. I really like the Bubbling Brown Sugar which is a shimmering bronze that is much darker in the tube then on. Very pretty!
Tui Hair Smoothie ($19.00 USD) — This is essentially a hair mask that you can leave on a few to about 15 minutes to get the conditioning that you need. It is rich in essential oils and Shea and Cocoa butters that provide moisture and protection. My hair gets very dry and frizzy in the Kansas City humidity and I find that this really helps. And like that its paraben-free and doesn’t include petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial color.Visit the website at www.carolsdaughter.com to check out these and other fantastic products. Enjoy!

Love, Peace & The Planet Collection
Hi all, welcome to my Hair Extravaganza Week! I am reviewing only hair products this week at Forty, Flirty and Fabulous!
Tigi is introducing it’s Love, Peace & The Planet eco-friendly line. This line of six products is made from natural, paraben free, and mostly organic ingredients that are as good for the planet as they are for your hair!
The products are:
Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Shampoo ($19.95 USD) — This is the BEST hair scent ever! When you first sniff the bottle, the smell of mint is dominant. But when you shampoo, the cranberry and orange infuse the shower with this incredible fragrance! This is great for the scent alone, but the organic aloe leaf juice, organic geranium, organic lavender and rosemary seed extracts and organic jojoba oil make this shampoo both cleansing and softening.
Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Conditioner ($19.95 USD) — Same fantastic scent as the shampoo! The conditioner includes organic aloe leaf juice, organic olive fruit oil, organic white tea leaf extract, and organic glycerin. This product claims to moisturize, impart shine and help fight humidity. My hair does seem less frizzy when I use it.
Let it Be Cherry Almond Leave-in Conditioner ($18.95 USD) — This product has a creamy, comforting scent and is great when you don’t have time to condition in the shower or need an extra moisture boost. The ingredients include: mucor miehei and shiitake mushroom extracts, glycerin, organic shea butter and organic hibiscus and horsetail extracts.
Freak of Nature Lavender Citrus Eucalyptus Volumizer & Thickener ($18.95) — This is a good product for me since my hair is rather thin. The scent is nice but strong, you can really smell the Eucalyptus! I rub this into damp hair, making sure I get the roots, then blow dry. The ingredients include: organic Japanese green tea extract, organic pomegranate extract, organic nettle, organic glycerin and wheat amino protein.
Eco Freako Cherry Almond Texturizer ($22.95 USD) — This texturizer paste includes carnauba, soy and beeswax, hydrolyzed wheat starch, hydrolyzed soy protein and hydrolyzed wheat protein plus organic safflower oil, organic shea butter and organic jojoba seed oil. It adds shine and texture and you can mold your hair into fun and funky ‘dos.
Free Ur Mind Cherry Almond Firm Hold Hairspray ($22.95 USD) — This hairspray gives a firm hold without feeling sticky. The ingredients include: organic lavender, chamomile, geranium and aloe vera gel, panthenol and essential oils.
I highly recommend this line for healthy, green (haha) hair! Check out a TIGI retailer near you!

Forty, Flirty and Fabulous is going international! Well, at least for today. Crazylibellule and the Poppies is a funky fragrance line from France. Their most popular product is their CrazySticks ($18.00 USD), a solid scent in a tube that is completely portable.
These are great since you can keep them in your purse and apply them whenever you need a little boost! Two I really like are:
Blue Orchidée from the Shanghaïjava collection – the notes are Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Jasmine, Tangerine, Sandalwood, Rose, Orange, Musk and Vanilla.
Vanilla Sucre Glace from the Poule de Luxe collection — the notes are Caramel, Neroli, Vanilla, Jasmine, Musk, Bergamot and Tangerine.
For all of you natural product lovers like myself, Crazylibellule and the Poppies’ products are alcohol free, paraben free and have no artificial coloring.
CrazySticks can be purchased at Sephora. Also visit the website at www.crazylibellule.com to see all that the company has to offer.

Tarte ReCreate Foundation
I love liquid foundation. I know that mineral powder foundations are all the rage these days, but I for me nothing beats the perfect smoothing foundation that is a perfect match to my skin color. It hides my pores and makes the rest of my makeup look flawless.
Tarte’s ReCreate™ Foundation ($37.00 USD) is a natural anti-aging foundation with Wrinkle Rewind™ Technology. What’s that, you ask? Tarte’s website explains it as, ”proprietary re-hydrating complex restores moisture, tone, and elasticity to the skin, effectively reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”. They also claim the micronized minerals in the formula help brighten the skin and provide an SPF 15.
Other ingredients also include goji berry extract, peat extract, and wheat extract and its paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free. To find out all of the ingredients, visit Tarte’s website at www.tartecosmetics.com.
I think that the price of this foundation is good for the great coverage and glow it gives you. I have noticed that it doesn’t settle in my fine lines and makes my pores (a big problem) less noticeable. I am yet to get a lot of lines (yay sunscreen!), but it seems to make the ones I have less noticeable. All in all, a great liquid foundation!
